Shane A. Hawksworth, MD, FAANS, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Las Palmas and Del Sol Medical Centers in El Paso, Texas, specializing in complex and minimally invasive brain and spine surgery. His areas of expertise include the surgical treatment of brain, spine, and pituitary tumors, as well as advanced approaches to complex spinal and neurological conditions.

Dr. Hawksworth graduated with honors from Wake Forest University and earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he received extensive training in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of complex neurological and spinal conditions.

A dedicated U.S. Army veteran, Dr. Hawksworth completed 15 years of distinguished military service, including eight years as Chief of Neurosurgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss and a combat deployment to Iraq. During his military service, he developed strong ties to the El Paso community while caring for service members, military families, and patients throughout the region.

Dr. Hawksworth currently serves as Vice Chief of Surgery and Neurosurgery Trauma Liaison for Las Palmas and Del Sol Medical Centers. He utilizes advanced neurosurgical technologies and techniques, including robotic-assisted spine surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery, with an emphasis on providing the least invasive and most effective treatment options appropriate for each patient. Dr. Hawksworth is committed to delivering advanced, compassionate neurosurgical care to patients in El Paso and the surrounding region.
